Escape from Tarkov update brings in much-needed changes

The MMO shooter’s much-awaited Patch 0.12.6.7456 is now live, bringing a host of new additions and changes with it. Battlestate Games kept its word of leveling the playing field for all users by wiping the character progress and equipment.

The combination of Escape from Tarkov and Captcha has given many users quite a headache while logging in or switching accounts. However, good use of the security system is finally here.

Escape from Tarkov will also look to tackle the cheaters taking undue advantage of the Flea market in the game. Any suspicious activity in the marketplace will now trigger the Captcha security protocol. Three unsuccessful Captcha attempts will trigger a 5-minute ban from trading.

Bug fixes and AI improvements

The patch also fixed a ton of bugs and issues in the game. You can check out the patch notes in its entirety here.

Furthermore, the devs have also brought in some much-needed improvements to the in-game AI.

  • Improved behavior of ordinary scavs, now they can cooperate
  • Fixed a bug that when a player falls into the bot’s legs, the bot can’t hit him
  • Fixed a bug where the Gluhar and his guards did not react to the enemy
  • Fixed a bug where the Gluhar did not react to shots and the death of his guards
  • Fixed a bug where the Shturman’s guards did not take their positions
  • The Sturman’s guards will no longer rush between points while in peaceful behavior
  • Bots no longer attack a player scav who has killed another player scav (the aggressor)
  • Increased variety of bot patrol routes on locations

Any issues while logging in after the update are commonplace. The devs have assured everyone they will work on it until it is a smooth transition.

Escape from Tarkov or Rust?Posted by SmoothOperator96 on 3/23/20 at 3:58 pm
Which one should I buy? Just got a notification from Steam that Rust is 50% off.
Rust: $20
Tarkov: $45
I heard Rust is kind of like Ark where whatever you build or do can be destroyed/looted while you’re offline. And I work 4 day hitches so I can’t get on everyday. So with that considered would Escape from Tarkov be money better spent?

Random server rust is a nightmare. You basically have to do your own private server to have fun

Tarkov. You won't lose all of your progress if you're gone for days on end.

Tarkov has the steepest “learning curve” in a game I’ve played in LONG time... almost unplayablely so..
Rust is a terrific game, but the entire community is fricking terribly toxic. If you can find a good group of guys to play with (it’ll take effort) it’s a more interesting game with way more to do depending on your “play style”... you can hunt, build, PVP, handle electric, monument/scrap runs, trade, open vending machines, farm, etc.
So, if you can handle shitty 14 year olds “ReeEEee’ing” all the time and the game chat being borderline racists/bigots, then I’d go with Rust
One thing, make sure if you do play Rust you’re prepared for a pretty steep learning curve as well and Pvp is hella hard.
Check out /r/playrustLFG and either post or find a good duo to jump in with.

Yeah, they’ve changed a lot of that type of thing... if you have a gun, even unequipped, people can see it in your back/leg/etc
There are some really good “content creators” for Rust.

-KC Mo
-Lifestomper

Rust is really a great game, that is supported by it's devs, who are always trying to improve the game.
It is a muther f'er tho
Especially when you are a freshy, and you die, die, die, die, die x50.
And not only are the Chinese m'fers with passing the corona disease around, but they are cheaters, hackers, and just BS players on Rust. Russians are a closing 2nd on d-baggery
Rust is usually super cheap, i got it for $5 on sale for steam.

Rust is just too harsh.
You can spend 1000 hours building up supplies, a nice base, then you go to sleep one night, fire up the game the next day and everything is gone and destroyed.
Nope. Not for me. If you put 1000 hours into something, you should be able to finally build an impregnable base but nope. You can't do that.

When Will Escape From Tarkov Be Released

You know exactly what I meant. You can't build a base that won't be wiped out by a griefer no matter how much time you put into it.

Oh and that is another negative. I don't want to play a game that wipes your work away if you somehow survive and thrive.
I think I played about a month before giving up on Rust.

Unless you want to spend a lot of time playing, Rust is so damn hard to get into.

It's basically a more realism version of Minecraft
Hosting your own private server is a blast

So I’ve heard Tarkov isn’t the greatest of experience for people who dont play very often. I’ve been thinking about Tarkov as a change of pace game to jump on once or twice a week. Will I end up having an absolutely awful experience playing that casually?

Yes you're probably going to have a bad time, especially if you are playing solo, I recommend at least one friend to play with.
They wipe everybody's gear and money about every 6 months or so and we are getting towards the end of a 'season'. Right now most people are loaded with money and go in to raids with the best gear and if your gear is subpar, you probably have like a 5% chance of killing them, especially being a new player.
With all that, it could be good to casually play to learn the game and the maps and when the wipe hits you can take it more seriously.

I love Tarkov, but you have to be prepared to deal with waves of cheaters in the game and some periods of less than ideal server performance. It's a two steps forward, one step back kind of development process that is almost endearing at this point haha

Yeah I think I’m just gonna stay away and just watch summit stream it late night when I can’t sleep lol.

Watching streamers is actually how I got into the game a long time ago. The game is a lot of fun, but there's a steep learning curve and a punishing penalty for dying.

Yeah I want to try it but I just didn’t have the time to devote to something like that.
